The D7 can be the most problematic to people that have just bought one to restore off the likes of Ebay due to the passible non standard wiring alterations made by a previous owner. first you have the number of headlamp switches fitted
one switch is a headlight switch only AC bike
two switch is a headlight and ignition switch bike then there are 3 different types of stator

this on is an AC only stator and one HL switch, wiring diagram here

this one is a DC or DC and AC stator with 3 lighting coils and internal HT coil with battery and one HL switch, wiring diagrams for battery Headlight and AC direct Headlight DC here....and AC here

this one is DC and two HL switches 3 lighting coils,external ignition coil and battery, wiring diagram here...and here
